Was born May 11, 1949 to the late Porter and Julia Troutman in Alexandria, Louisiana. Nathaniel moved to Las Vegas, Nevada December 5, 1961 at the age of 12 where he resided until his death.

Nathaniel went to Rancho High School until he enlisted in the military May 17, 1966 and served in the Vietnam War and returned home with an honorable discharged August 1968.

Nathaniel worked many jobs. One which he loved the most and that was with the Las Vegas Housing authority as (The Mail man).

On February 1, 1999 he married his long-term love of his life, Anita (Burks) Troutman.
