Mizell Wright was born August 31, 1933 in Collinston, Louisiana to the late Alex and Mattie Akins. Mizell confessed Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age, he was the third child of six children. In his early twenties Mizell married the love of his life Mary Green, and from this union eight children were born four sons and four daughters.

Mizell and Mary arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1959, where Mizell began working in the hotel industry as an engineer at Binion's Horseshoe Hotel until he later retired. He found happiness and joy in his family. Mizell was loved and cherished by all who knew him. He will be missed by many forgotten by none.
