Manson Smith Jr. departed this life on May 6, 2019. Manson Smith Jr. was born in Roxton, Texas on April 24, 1945, and was the fifth child of the late Manson Smith, Sr. and the late Florence M. Lee-Smith. He was the youngest child by his father and mother. Manson was a very energetic person with a contagious personality. He loved people and was very kind and generous.

Manson was brought up in the Martin Chapel C M E Methodist Church in Roxton, Texas where he attended Sunday School and Church services. He also attended G. Smith High School.

Manson moved to Midland, Texas in 1962 to live with his oldest sister Dorothy Smith. While living there he always kept a job. He was a very independent person. He met Portia Graves in 1965 and got married in the same year and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Manson worked at Flamingo Hilton his whole entire career and even received Employee of the Month in 1972. He retired from the Flamingo in 2008.

Manson loved his family. He had a very special bond with his sons and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing dominoes and spending times with his friends.
