


Hollis Brown

Hollis Brown was the third of sixteen siblings born to the late Mr. Ray and Georgia Peters Brown on March 5, 1948, in Columbia, Mississippi.
Hollis attended Marion Central High School where he was an outstanding basketball player on the high school varsity team. He was a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. In 1968, he received his high school diploma. After graduation, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 1974, while in Las Vegas, Hollis was employed with United Airlines for forty years. During the tenure of this job, he was transferred to Chicago, Illinois and California, finally back to Las Vegas. He retired from the job in 2014.
After moving to Las Vegas, Hollis joined The Advent United Methodist Church, where he remained a faithful and dedicated member until his earthly departure.
Hollis loved the Lord, his family, and everyone he encountered. Hollis was a man of a few words, but gave plenty of love. He loved singing and playing his guitar. His favorite song was "I like the way Jesus work."
