Sunrise: January 3, 1955 Sunset: February 28, 2020

Pastor Earl Henry Sr. was born on January 3, 1955, to the Union of Sam Henry and Myrtis Latchinson-Henry, in Sicily Island, Louisiana, where he was raised and Baptized at an early age. Earl attended public school at Sicily Island High School, where he graduated, class of 1973. He always said, "We worked in the cotton field half of the year and went to school the other half of the year." After graduation, Earl made a conscious decision to relocate from Louisiana to Las Vegas, NV, where he planted his feet on 'Solid Ground'.
Shortly after arriving to Las Vegas, NV, he acquired a job at the Central Telephone Company. Not long after arriving in Las Vegas, he sent for his high school sweetheart Nancy Hatten and they married January 17, 1974. Through this union, 4 (four) beautiful children were born.
He united with New Light Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John Henry Jr. He sang in the choir and helped Pastor John Henry in whatever he needed him to do. In 1979, God called Earl to preach and evangelize his word, after the loss of their second child. Four years after stepping into ministry, God elected Earl to his first Pastoral position at Greater Faith Baptist Church. In the midst of Pastoring and parenting, Pastor Henry decided to extend his education. Pastor Henry obtained an Associate of Art Degree in Business Administration from Western University which is a branch of the University of Phoenix Association. He said, " I wanted to wait for my kids to finish school, before I went back to school. Pastor Henry Pastored Greater Faith Baptist Church for 28 years, until God saw the need to transition him for the birth of New Paradise Missionary Baptist Church. Despite being a full-time Pastor, Pastor Henry steadily worked for 45years; 41 of those year were dedicated to working the 'grave-yard' shift at what's now called "Century Link Telecommunications."
Pastor Henry retired from his illustrious career in January of 2019 to place all of his focus on his baby " New Paradise Missionary Baptist Church." Pastor Henry, developed numerous quotes and his most memorable quotes were: "It's in your Bible if you didn't tear it out and God is so big if he moved, he'd bump into himself." His most memorable quote for New Paradise was, Working Together Works!
Pastor Henry was a very humble, kind, and hardworking man. His family was his proudest accomplishment who he boasted upon and loved dearly. His favorite work phrase was "if there is a job to do, stay with it until it's done." He will be remembered for his canny sense of humor, flawless love of people, and unwavering commitment to the Lord! Pastor Henry remained the Shepperd of the New Paradise Missionary Baptist Church until God saw fit to call him home, February 28, 2020, as he transitioned peacefully at his home, built for his wife and children.
