Sis Osie Jean Smith-Hawkins was born March 19, 1940 in Solitude, Louisiana to the late Mr. Edwards Smith and Mrs. K.T. Smith. She departed this life quietly at home, October 09, 2019 at 8:49am. Osie graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with a B.S. in Education.

She was a member of many organizations throughout her life. She has received several awards and certificates all with one thing in common her love for people. Mom was a teacher, educator, and counselor to children as well as adults.
