Marie Bolden, daughter of the late Reverend Nathaniel Bolden Sr. and Emma Richard Bolden, was born on July 15, 1936, in Mound, Louisiana. Marie was affectionately known to her family and friends as "Baby Sister" or "Bay Sue." Marie spent the majority of her childhood in Louisiana and later moved to Nevada as a teenager. Marie was a proud graduate of Basic High School in Henderson, Nevada. She worked determinedly to provide for her family for nearly 30 years in the hotel industry.
Marie loved to spend time caring for her family and selflessly took on the role as the family's matriarch. Marie had a strong passion for writing poems. She chronicled history, tackled topics of love and companionship, and proclaimed her faith in God through her poetry. In her free time, Marie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, sewing, listening to music, and collecting coins. In her youth, she loved to go to concerts and dances. As a result of her comforting spirit and welcoming personality, she was loved by many family and friends. Marie solemnly left this life on July 27, 2018.
