Isaac was the 4th child out of eleven children. He was born to Isaac and Beatrice Cary Thorns Sr. He attended Crowley Industrial School.

He was baptized at the age of six at St. Joseph Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully. He met his beautiful wife Ella Mae Grice at a rice cafe where he worked as a cook. they got married in 1957, from that union they had four wonderful children. He worked for GMC until he retired after thirty-five years. He was the family mechanic.

He was best known by handsome slim. He was the joker of the family. He would tell everyone "I'm going to put my feet where the sun don't shine." He loved watching pro-wrestling. He was a longtime L.A. Lakers fan.
