


Clyde Watkins
April 4, 1933 - January 24, 2021
He was a long time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada since 1944. Clyde was a sport enthusiast he was nicknamed " Rabbit" because of his speed in running. In his early years he participated in such sports as basketball, boxing, and track and field. At the early age of 14 he was known in the community for his skills as a pool player. He reportedly traveled the states participating as a pool player and won many Championships and trophies. Clyde started working at an early age of 13 as a dishwasher at the Flamingo Hotel. He later became a prep chef, later he moved to the Dunes Hotel where he worked as a Pullman.
His final job was at the Caesar Palace Hotel in 1966 he worked again as a Pullman and later as a Bellman. Clyde was well known in the West Las Vegas Community as well as at Caesar Palace Hotel. Through his job and involvement in the community, "Rabbit" as he was referred to, was well known by many top entertainers, boxing greats, and had many friends. He retired from Caesar
Palace Hotel after 45 years of service. Clyde loved his family and has had a positive influence in the lives of his family, friends, and acquaintances. Clyde "Rabbit" Watkins will be greatly missed.
