Sister Bobbie Jean Owens was born to George and Virginia Larry on April 18, 1944 in Newellton, LA. She was the 5th of six children. She attended Ruben McCall High School in Tallulah LA, and graduated in 1962.

Sister Bobbie worked at the Sands Hotel and Flamingo Hotel as a Housekeeping Supervisor and retired in 2005.

Sister Bobbie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. After relocating to Las Vegas NV, she joined Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church under leadership of her late brother-in-law Nathaniel Whitney Sr., where she faithfully served as a member of the usher as a strong soldier until December 25, 2017 when she suffered a stroke. God in his infinite wisdom granted us the privilege of sharing more time and love with her. Our lives have been tremendously impacted from the loss of the last Larry sibling.

I Thought Of You Today

I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new

I thought about you yesterday and days before that too,

I think of you in silence I often speak your name all I have

 are memories and your picture in a frame your memory is

my keepsake with which I’ll never part God has you

 in his keeping I have you in my heart.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven
And bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why

Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know

But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store

Since you'll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you'll always stay

Mother

We had a wonderful mother,
One who never really grew old;
Her smile was made of sunshine,
And her heart was solid gold;
Her eyes were as bright as shining stars,
And in her cheeks fair roses, you see.
We had a wonderful mother,
And that’s the way it will always be.
But take heed, because
She’s still keeping an eye on all of us,
So let’s make sure
She will like what she sees.

Think of Me

When you’re feeling sad or a little blue,

Look around and you’ll see I’m here with you

 I’m the bird who soars so high above

 I’m the one who filled your heart with love.

Soldier, Rest

Soldier, rest, thy warfare o’er;
Sleep the sleep that knows no breaking;
Dream of battlefields no more;
Days of danger, nights of waking.

Tranquil you lie;
Your nightly virtue proved;
Your memory hallowed;
In the land you loved.
