The Life Of Stephen Ray " Steve " Hankins
Stephen Ray Hankins was born in Las Vegas, NV on January 20, 1974, to Bettie Hankins and Willie Slocum. Stephen Accepted Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. In his adulthood, Stephen became a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Stephen attended and graduated from Vo-Tech High School in 1992. He then went on to trade school in Phoenix, AZ for welding. Stephen was dedicated to his career as a Blackflow Technician with the Las Vegas Valley Water District for over 18 years.
Stephen was a family man. He loved his family more than anything in the world. He enjoyed spending time with his family and always tried to make time for those closet to him. If you ever asked those whom he spent his time with, "who was his best friend'? Everyone would give you the same answer: "I was Stephen's Bestfriend!" Stephen valued his relationships. He made his loved ones feel special and important. Stephen was a protector and a very caring person. He would always assure that everyone he loved was taken care of, even if it meant making personal sacrifices. Stephen enjoyed watching sports.
Football season was his favorite. When the Steelers were playing, he was not to be bothered. Losing Stephen is a great loss to his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed, and he has taken a piece of us with him.
