 On December 27, 1952. Leroy "Irish" Haley Jr was the 4th child born to the union of Bobbie Wallace- Haley and Leroy Haley Sr.Leroy Haley was born in Garland, Arkansas. Where he grew up as a farm boy and attended Garland elementary school, Carver elementary and late Booker T. Washington High school. He joined West Track Baptist Church at a young age. He continued to attend church and bible study throughout his life.He attended First Freewill Church in Illinois under the leadership of Bishop Brown. Leroy was a hard worker. He worked many jobs in his lifetime. He worked on oil rigs, the hotel industry and the recreation industry with some renowned greats. Leroy graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nv in 1971. Leroy's hobbies included boxing where turned professional in 1973 and captured the WBC light welterweight title with a split decision win over Saoul Mamby in 1982. With 58 bouts and 12 KO's "Irish" was a Champion in every sense of the word.
