Juanita Williams was born April 3, 1933 in Montgomery, Alabama to Sam and Rosa Williams. She was the oldest of her three siblings; two brothers Eligha Williams and Harry James Williams, also her beloved cousin Willie Lee Long, who was considered as a brother. Juanita completed high school in Alabama. After the death of her mother, she went to live with her aunt Sally Harris. Juanita moved to San Francisco, California at the age of eighteen. There she met and married Willie Smith.
Junaita began her work life as a waitress and later a home health aide. She remarried in 1976 to William H Johnson, and resided in Los Angeles. Juanita worked for Rockedyne, a company that built rocket engines. She became a certified forklift operator. After her and her husband retired, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1987 and became members of Second Baptist Church.
Juanita is known for her kindness to others, loved to talk about everything, loved eating (lol) and she was also an excellent cook. She always had a big smile when her immediate family was around her. She loved it! Family was important to her so when family would come in town, she would be so "happy" and she loved her friends also. Juanita loved listening to blues (her favorite) and for those who don't know KENO was her game.
