"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying. neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" - Rev. 21:4
Isaac Donald Watson was born to the union of Elbert and Gracie Lee Ellen Moore Watson, on his mother's birthday, October 25, 1958, into a large family of brothers and sisters: Allen, William Kenneth, Robert Clifton, Timothy Peter, Geoffrey Christopher, Kristine, Jonie Mae, Margie Dianne, and Katheryn Yolanda. He grew up in Lynwood, California, and attended Lynwood High School, where he excelled in baseball, graduating in 1976. Upon graduating from high school, Isaac enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served as a chef. While serving in the Marine Corps, Isaac was introduced to the love of his life Pamela Edwards. They were united in holy matrimony on June 19, 1982. Staff Sergeant Isaac Donald Watson received his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in 1984 and went to work with his father-in-law in his construction business. Always seeking to improve himself, "Donnie", as he was affectionately called by his family, also attended Cerritos College taking classes in drafting, animation. and computer coding. Isaac had an insatiable love for learning and continued keeping up on various topics by taking more classes, reading books, watching documentaries, and going to museums.
On March 7, 1988, he and his wife Pam welcomes into the world their beautiful daughter Jennifer. She immediately became the center of their universe. Isaac was a devoted husband, father, and son. He became a caregiver for his wife Pam when she fell ill until her death on June 2, 2009, and subsequently helped to take care of his father when his health began to fail. In between time, because of his wife's illness, he sometimes became a stay-at-home dad to care for his daughter as well.
Having served as a chef in the Marine Corps, it is no surprise that Donnie was a foodie, and loved to cook. He also liked taking long drives and watching movies. In addition, he enjoyed playing video games, and he loved playing card games. he was a huge football fan, and his favorite team was the Steelers.
Isaac enjoyed family activities, and many were the Saturday afternoons that he and his brother and sisters would find themselves at the park playing baseball.
Isaac was a gentle soul and loved his family. He and his brother Timothy were inseparable, and when Isaac became ill, he took over caring for him. He remained Isaac's devoted caregiver until the Lord called him home on the morning of January 9, 2022. "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters." - I John 3:16. Robert indeed exemplified this character quality in caring for his brother Isaac.
