Florence Cato was born 15 minutes after her brother, Lawrence James Cato, on January 13, 1938
to William and Lucille Grant Cato in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Mom accepted Christ at an early age. Only six years old when her mother
died, she relocated to Stockton, California to live with her
Aunt. Florence attended Edison High School and graduated in
1955. She later moved to Los Angeles, California where she
worked for Pacific Telephone Co, now known as AT&T
Florence retired after 30 years and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.
She then worked as a slot attendant and retired at the age of 82.

Florence was soft-spoken, loving, and always
working to support her family. She had a heart of gold and was
dearly loved by her entire family. MOM WILL TRULY BE MISSED.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother William
and Lucille Grant Cato; four brothers, Wesley Cato, William
Cato, Booker T. Cato and Davidson Cato; one sister, Mercedes
Cato Waller; son, Tyron Jones; daughter, Tiffany Delane
Dixon-Briggs; stepson Marvin Potts; great grandson Divine
Humphrey, and great, great granddaughter Laniah Rankin.

She leaves to cherish her memory her twin brother, Lawrence
James Cato; two sisters, Marie Cato-Heath and Irene Cato-
Antwine; a daughter, Joyce Reneé Jones; two sons, James
Anthony "Jimmy" Jones, Sr. and Marco Edwin Potts; three
stepsons, Mahlon Potts, Jr., Terry Briggs and Sandy June Briggs; four
stepdaughters, Linda Carolyn "Katie" Allen, Sandra, and Wanda
granddaughters, 31 Briggs; nine grandsons, nine
great grandchildren; two great, great
grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to
mention, but you know who you are. With LOVE.
