Eddie Harris

Eddie Harris was born on November 7, 1933 in Beulah MS, to the parents of Walter Harris and Willie Mae

Hollis. Eddie was the third child of nine children, Eddie's siblings are Ruby Weston, Walter Harris Jr, Willa

Mae Smother, Melvin Harris, Rosa Lee Thompson and Cletonia Dickens, In 1940 Eddie's family moved to

Chicago IL, and there is where he would start his first job as a paper boy at the age of seven in the efforts to

help support his family. Eddie graduated from Wendal Phillips High School in 1952 and enlisted in the

United States Army in 1953, Eddie served 4 years.

In 1956, Eddie met his forever love Ethel Bessie Rockwell, when he walked her home at the request of his

friend James Gardner after a skate night outing. Eddie and Ethel's friendship tumed into a life long union and

they married on August 12, 1957, They conceived five children, Eddie Harris Jr, Donna Marie Harris,

Timothy Harris, Edward Lloyd Harris and Darryl Maurice Harris now Israel Ben Ezra Kohen Nissim, Eddie

Jr, and Timothy proceeded them in death shortly after childbirth. Eddie worked as a Foreman for Sherwin

Williams Paint from 1959 up until 1964 when he started his own business as a newspaper distributor in the

city of Chicago; The Drexel News Agency.

Eddie lived a full and prosperous life with his wife, children and

grandchildren until July 11, 2013 when his wife Ethel passed away. Eddie Moved to Las Vegas and spent the

last nine years of his life to the fullest of his life with his family. Eddie enjoyed bowling with his entire family,

attending celebrations and holiday functions, family vacations to California and Arizona. He had a diverse

" taste for music and dancing and a forever a Cubbie and Bears fan. (He did go to the occasional White Sox

game with his sons, without compliant), Dad, was a honest, loving, hard working man that taught his sons

and daughter, well by being there, to show them how to love. Eddie leaves to mourn his three children, Donna

Harris, Edward Harris, Israel Nissim, grandchildren, Tanisha Harris, Ethel and Dionna Simpson, Vicky and

Author Moore, Deborah, Obediah, Karom Harris, Vasthi Brawdy and Reginald House and a host of

grandchildren, family and friends.
