Derrick Lewis

DERRICK WAYNE LEWIS "POPPA LOC", was born April 15, 1991, in Houma, LA to

the late Shawanda Faye Lewis and Derrick Wayne Sims. Derrick was the 2nd born

and was the first boy. The family relocated to Los Angeles at an early age. Derrick

lost his mother at an early age and moved to Indiana with his father Derrick Sims

and Tamera Bradley, where he attended school, was a model student and played

football and collected many trophies and awards

Derrick moved to Las Vegas where he spent his adult life.

To know Derrick is to love him. He had a heart of gold and would give his last

dollar and the shirt off of his back. Derrick was very independent and an amazing

cook-he could have easily been a Master Chef. Derrick loved sports and was an

avid Raiders fan. He was very excited when the team moved to Las Vegas, where

he resided. He spent a lot of time bonding with his Dad during their time watching

sports and games, a passion that they both loved.

Derrick loved his family. Derrick was blessed with one son, Kashmere Wayne

Riley-Lewis born on July 17, 2017-one of the happiest days of his life. Kashmere

was his world and he could do no wrong in Derrick's eyes. He was a great son,

father, brother and uncle

Derrick became ill approximately 2 years ago. Derrick closed his eyes and departed

this earth on Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, 2023. Derrick is preceded

in death by his mother, Shawanda Faye Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Kashmere Wayne Riley-Lewis, his

dad, Derrick Sims (Tamera); Two sisters, Tawanda Lewis-Washington (Quinton)

Riley Ballinger and two younger brothers, DeShawn Lewis and Samuel Dotie,

III; Stepsisters: Megan Woods (Lamar), Morgan Omekeh (Michael); Stepbrother

Rolonte Bradley; Nephews, JaMarion Jackson, JaZarie Lewis, Jordan Thrower, Cecil

Bonner, Jr.; Nieces: Jurnee Thrower, Jurzee Thrower & J'Lahni Bonner and a host

of family and friends.
