Barbara attended the Westside School, K.O. Knudsen, and Valley High School. Barbara was very much adored by her siblings who loved and protected her. After high school, she worked as a waitress at Carrols Restaurant and later worked in housekeeping She was employed at The Jockey Club, The Four Queens, The Union Plaza, and The Tropicana. She was well known for her great work ethic.
The highlights of Barbara's life were spending time with her family and friends. Barbara was known as "BJ" by those who loved her. You never went to BI's house and didn't smell a home cooked meal and the aroma of pine sol. As a single mom, she did her best to raise her five children in a loving, caring but strict environment. She was also kindhearted and enjoyed having Sunday dinners with her family and friends. BJ never complained and would often let you know, "You Can't Keep a Good Woman Down." Anytime anyone expressed an act of kindness towards her she was always appreciative. Her favorite term of endearment for those she loved would be to call them,
"Baby girl or Baby boy."
Barbara received Christ in her mid-fifties. She was baptized at the Church of New Life Centre Ministries in Las Vegas in 2012 Under the leadership of Pastor Angela. She would also frequent the Power of the Word Ministries Church of God in Christ in support of her family who attended there. Barbara kept her faith up even when she became quite ill. She fought a good fight until the Lord called her home from her suffering to her heavenly reward.
